ABYSS

I stand facing an Abyss
Nothing for miles in front of me
And to Journey across will be a hard road
For I stand Alone
My thoughts plague me
My emotions rule me
And my heart is heavy

I can see the light at the far end
Beckoning me forward
Yet my feet are firmly rooted in despair
I don't want to walk alone
Who is going to hold my hand?
Who will catch me if I stumble and fall?
Who will push me to keep going, when I am tired and on the verge of giving up?

I stand facing an Abyss
A Journey that needs me to move forward
Yet something holds me back
The light beckons
And with the Divine surrounding me
I take my first step
